Wednesday we packed up, left our camp site, and drove up the Trail Ridge Road to the Alpine Visitors Center. Most of the road is above the tree line.
We saw a herd of elk. I estimate there were 60 to 70.

This is a view of the highest continuously-paved road in the United States - at an altitude of 12,183 feet.
