Review

Last night, I went to the new Imperial Buffet restaurant that replaced Coco's in La Mirada.  Coco's had been in that location for many years, and I was sorry to see it go.  It was almost a La Mirada landmark.

After a few months, Imperial Buffet opened up in its place.  I finally went there with a friend last night, expecting the standard mediocre Chinese buffet.  We sat down, ordered our drinks, and loaded up our plates.  From the first bite, I realized the food was not mediocre.  Everything I had, I liked.  They had all kinds of sea food (snow crab legs, sushi, many kinds of shrimp and fish).  The salmon was really good.  I also especially liked the crab legs wrapped in bacon.

My friend and I had come in not knowing the price, and after tasting the food, we were speculating that it was going to be kind of expensive.  But when the bill came... $19.58 for two.  We were pleasantly surprised.  Many buffets will charge another dollar or two for drinks.  But at Imperial Buffet, they're included.

So Imperial Buffet has become my new favorite restaurant in La Mirada. (It used to be Rio Churrascaria, but they went out of business).  I hope to spread the word about this place so more people come and keep it in business (I don't want it to suffer the fate of my previous favorite).
